About

I teach Wellness, Chi Gung, Kung Fu , and general holistic instruction. Mystic Energy Arts is offering training based on individuals needs. That is in a group or private. We can focus on the healing aspects of the arts or ways to restore balance and defend ourselves.

My journey in the martial arts began when I was 14 in New Jersey. I studied Tang Soo Do (Moo Duk Kwan) under Master Charles Irwin.

At that time I knew very little about the arts. After seven months of stretching out and absorbing what I could my father told me I would have to take a break from training.

Fast forward to 2008 I rejoined the arts in Arizona and learned some Yang style Tai Chi and Chinese Kenpo (Tra Co lineage) under Master Ray Fisher. In time I began to re connect with the kung fu mind body spirit.

I was fortunate to attend many classes and had some favorite teachers. I met John T Burns and Karen Burns who would become owners of Fluid Martial Arts in Tempe.

Every Wednesday I looked forward to sparring with the dojo brothers and sisters led by guest instructor Sensei Stan Hillhouse. There were many other students at all levels that walked with me on this journey.

Six years or so later I stumbled upon a long sought after teacher who could go into depth with the internals. I was after Shing Yi or Ba Gua Chuan. By fate I found Sifu Tom Morrissey. A true warrior, gentleman, and current sifu. I felt like I had found the system and teacher I wanted to train in. We are both from the east coast and have love of music so it felt appropriate straight away for me. It was then that all the training started to come together. Tom’s teacher Sifu Ak Fei Gong aka Kenny Gong had planted the seed in my Sifu and through 40 plus years from when my Sifu first trained with Sifu Gong. What grew from that is what is passed down to me and other who have had a chance to train with Sifu Kenny Gong’s lineage. It’s hard to describe. Hence the name Mystic Energy Arts. This is not a cop out or boast. Once you experience change you will remember it always.

In a synchronistic turn of fate right before the pandemic of 2020, I crossed paths with another peaceful warrior. Through my infrequent training at Fluid Martial Arts I met Peter Hill. It turns out he is my peers and original Kenpo teacher’s teacher. My mind was blown at the fountain of knowledge contained with Coach Hill and Fluid Martial Arts family. Additionally how it all can get traced back to the early days of Kenpo in Arizona / USA that pre date my re-entry to the arts by two decades. I am blessed for all my teachers and peers who have paved the way so I can continue.

Also available Jin Shin Jyutsu healing touch. I learned this from Peter Bigfoot in Arizona. His teacher was Mary Baumgartner.

This is a very practical, abridged version of accupressure. It’s a hybridized and sometimes disputed discipline. Due to the fact that the modality I learned picks from Japanese and Chinese medicine.

The proof is in the results. It will either work or not. If it doesn’t work there are no harmful side effects. I am confident if the client gives me permission to treat there will be a noticeable improvement.

This is not intended to treat a pre existing condition or promise a cure for any dis – ease. It is simply allowing the energy to flow where it needs to and allow the body to reach its own harmonious balance.

As with Jin Shin Jyutsu, the same applies to the martial arts practice. The practitioner is simply training in energy cultivation and restoring balance/equilibrium to themselves or another.

For more information please visit my YouTube or drop a line via contact tab. I am available locally for bookings. I can be available via internet but these arts are best taught in person in small study groups. So reach out if you need to.

With intent and gratitude,
